The Making of the Jummai Ankle Boot
Our western-inspired Jummai, is no ordinary ankle boot. Find out about all the details that make it special and take a tour through all the steps that go into creating this versatile style.

The Rise of the Ankle Boot
There’s no denying that ankle boots have risen to become a wardrobe staple for many women. One of the most versatile items of footwear, they are ideal for almost any time of year and can be worn with countless silhouettes, from jeans to tailored trousers, to mini-skirts and midi-dresses. With so much bang for your buck, they really are an essential footwear investment.
A Boot Less Ordinary
At Sante + Wade, we chose a western-inspired boot for our first foray into this inimitable style. As with all our shoes, the Jummai was designed in London and handmade at our family-owned factory in Portugal.
We work closely with our partners to source the finest leathers. Jummai is available in two different snake prints: a deep blue and a funky ochre yellow, for those in touch with their inner wild child. For women who prefer to stick to the classics, the boot is also available in a rich black calf.
To keep the style practical and comfortable we are proud to have invested in our own custom-designed footbed, made from a superior breathable memory foam. The contoured insole also provides metatarsal support and a heel cushion. So no matter your size, whether you wear a women's size 9 shoe, or even 10 or 11, you can pound the pavements for as long as you like.
The Jummai wouldn’t be a Sante + Wade design without a twist. In this case, a central contrast panel with a delicate whipstitch overlay sets this style apart, delivering an ankle boot that is both elegant and edgy in equal measure.
The Making of a Classic.
Over 100 steps from start to finish go into the making of a shoe and each step is integral to the aesthetic and wearability of the design.
The artisans at our Portuguese factory apply decades of experience to ensure all our shoes are crafted to the highest standard. The attention given to each step of the process, is apparent in the finished product, so that putting on the Jummai feels like the easiest of decisions.
