  • Sante + Wade creates high-quality shoes at a fair price, in sizes EU 38 to 46, standard and wide. The brands’ ethos are governed by a commitment to cultivate individuality, encouraging women from different paths to stand out and be bold.

Each collection offers a range of beautifully crafted and comfortable shoes to take you from an occasion to the next.

The brand has been worn by celebrities such as Kate Winslet and Paris Lee, and is currently shortlisted in four categories, including the prestigious and coveted “Best Footwear Designer” at the 2022 Drapers Footwear Awards.

SANTE + WADE is a story about passion, innovation, and friendship.

Co-founder Shola Asante came up with the concept after trying and failing repeatedly to find footwear that fit and reflected her sense of style. An alumni of the footwear development programme at Taftc in Singapore, she further cemented her technical skills with one-to-one coaching at a luxury footwear consultancy.

Co-founder Agnès Cushnie used her expertise in the fashion industry to further develop the idea into a business model. A career in marketing and creative design helped to hone her craft, in particular a ten year tenure as head of the Agnes Valentine fashion label.

Actress and TV presenter Marcy Oni joined the team as an influencer in her own right and uses her footprint in social media to understand and respond to customer needs in emerging markets.

Our customer is a modern woman whose shoes help her navigate a busy lifestyle. She wants choice, comfort and quality with no concessions. She inspired us to develop a range embodying this spirit.

Tall women shouldn’t wear heels? Wide-fit shoes can’t look feminine or sexy?

We started Sante + Wade to challenge these outdated perceptions because we believe every woman should experience the emotion that comes with finding something beautiful that fits perfectly.

That’s why we create high-quality shoes at a fair price to accommodate the needs of women with longer or wider fit.

Our proposition naturally lends itself to the needs of those with a contemporary lifestyle, with shoes that take them effortlessly from one occasion to the next.

At the heart of our brand is a commitment to encourage women from all paths to stand out and be bold.

We care deeply about all the steps that go into creating our shoes and pride ourselves on a relentless focus to deliver outstanding quality and comfort.

From the beginning of this journey, we partnered with luxury European consultancies, to ensure we bring the highest levels of craftsmanship to our product design process.

Our product development starts with the creation of designs and bespoke lasts in the UK. Our shoes are then handmade at Portuguese factories with decades of shoemaking pedigree.

At SANTE + WADE, we are mindful of our social responsability. This starts first and foremost with the relationship with production partners. The company works closely with multi-generational factories in Portugal who celebrate craftmanship with the continued use of traditional hand-made shoe-making processes. These are factories that share the company’s values about creating timeless pieces and curbing over-production, where each individual worker’s worth is valued by the receipt of fair wages.

The company prides itself on the choice of materials on offer and goes to great lengths to source materials that are beautiful and long lasting. Leathers are of Spanish and Italian origin and sourced from suppliers who comply with strict EU environmental guidelines and obligations with respect to the tanning process and its impact on the environment.

Our packaging is made of 100% recycled materials-FSC certified and our sustainability practices have been further improved over the past year with the introduction of chrome free lining on all products, recycled cork in the footbed of all sneakers, as well as veg-tanned leather on selected products.

This continuous focus on improving environmental friendly practices across the supply chain ensures the company delivers beautifully designed and carefully made products, whilst honoring its ongoing commitment to sustainability.
