Chloé Dall' Olio

MY PERSONAL STYLE IS …

Improvised! I cannot prepare any outfit in advance because my choice of clothes totally depends on my mood when I wake up - but also on how much I will be able to cram in a day (how different my day to night plans will be?)

WHAT OR WHO INSPIRES YOU?

People, emotions, sounds. Art. Nature. Dance and music.

I am inspired by people who are not afraid to be themselves. I follow a few curvy models on Instagram who give me confidence and strength when posting pictures and videos of themselves with no makeup and greasy hair, trying to save the world from plastic and don’t care if they have a messy feed. Emma Breschi @emmabreschi I am looking at you.

Trinny Woodall (friend and boss) inspires me too, as she is not scared of being herself online and is open about everything. Her never ending energy shines throughout.

My transgender and LGBTQIA+ friends also inspire me. Their journey through confidence is much more complicated and powerful than mine and I admire their courage in fighting for their identity, daily. And last but not least, my mum.

WHAT DOES “WALK YOUR OWN WAY” MEAN TO YOU?

It means stick to what you feel is right. If you want to go somewhere you feel it’s good for you but you can’t find a mate to go with, just go on your own. Do things that are good FOR YOU. A lot of people (family, partners, work colleagues) project their insecurities on us and we need to be strong and fight for what we think is right. Always be humble and listen to everyone’s opinion, but at the end of the day the decision is YOURS. (Gosh I need to tattoo this somewhere…).

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT FOR YOU TO FIND THE RIGHT SHOES?

The worse nightmare! I still remember being on a mission in Milan to find a pair of shoes for my size. I went to the old city centre looking for size 41 (UK size 7), and the shop assistants were giggling under their breath and replying “we have some of the styles in size 40, if this is of any help...”

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION PEOPLE HAVE ABOUT YOU?

I tend to share a lot of what I do and I am also quite transparent with my emotions so I feel people kind of know me for who I am. I don’t share a massive amount of stuff about my private life on social but that’s a choice. I don’t think there are too many misconceptions.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SPOTS TO CHILL OUT?

Hoopla Comedy Club in London Bridge, Tate Modern, coffee at Beam.
