MY PERSONAL STYLE IS …
I wouldn’t call myself fashionable, my style reflects my attitude and personality. I prefer classic ageless style with attention to accessories.
WHAT OR WHO INSPIRES YOU?
I adore 50’s and 60’s glamour – Deborah Kerr – Honor Blackman – Wallace Simpson – Jackie O.
As a child I was always in awe of the models at the department store I would regularly visit with my grandparents. The models would walk between the tables in the restaurant showcasing the latest styles of the 1970s then 80’s. These models were always elegantly dressed. Conservative style, quality, British, ageless, timeless. This feeling influences me up to this day.
WHAT DOES “WALK YOUR OWN WAY” MEAN TO YOU?
I have reached an age where I feel confident enough to know what works and what doesn’t – and I don’t get too hung up when I know it’s not quite right. I also never regret being overdressed. I also have no problem wearing a black roll neck and jeans, knowing my accessories will take me from shopping at the local market to a city cocktail bar.
HOW DIFFICULT IS IT FOR YOU TO FIND THE RIGHT SHOES?
Really difficult nowadays ! As I’ve got older I still want stylish shoes but don’t want the pain that goes with heels or pinched toes. I tend to read reviews before I buy shoes just to make sure they will fit properly.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION PEOPLE HAVE ABOUT YOU?
People always think I must be super confident because of how I appear on social media. People also assume that I’ve always got my hair and makeup done but the truth is it’s not. Most days you will find me at the gym and walking the dog neither of which require much effort.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SPOTS TO CHILL OUT?
The Hawksmoor Air Street, Apley Farm Shop in Shropshire, David Austin Roses, Fumo Birmingham, local woods walking dog
